SADVC’s fundraiser, the “Cruisin’ Against Bruisin’”  car show, is held each April in the Meadowlark Building on the Kansas State Fairgrounds. It takes many volunteer hours to make it a success.

Sponsors purchase trophies and choose the vehicle to receive their trophy. Sponsors are encouraged to present the trophy as well during the presentation ceremony. Corporate sponsors (those donating $500 or more) are acknowledged on all promotional materials /venues and are provided a trophy to present to the vehicle of their choice.

Many of the car show participants attend the show because of their commitment to the mission of the agency and/or because domestic violence or sexual assault was/is a part of their experience. Maybe a family member used the services of SA/DVC or some other similar program and it is a way they can give back for the support received by a family member or friend. Many of the participants attend year after year.

SA/DVC is supported by Reno County United Way, Funding from these entities decreases the need for several smaller fundraising efforts. In fact, the expectation is that fundraising should be limited if funds are being received through other community efforts. But as grants funds decrease and agency needs increase, it is harder and harder to rely on limited fundraisers.

If you are part of an organization that is interested in fundraising for SA/DVC or you are an individual who would like to help with fundraising efforts, please contact us by calling our office (620-663-3630) or send an email to
