"If I were really asked to define myself, I wouldn't start with race; I wouldn't start with blackness; I wouldn't start with gender; I wouldn't start with feminism. I would start with stripping down to what fundamentally informs my life, which is that I'm a seeker on the path. I think of feminism, and I think of anti-racist struggles as part of it. But where I stand spiritually is, steadfastly, on a path about love." -bell hooks

The Sexual Assault/Domestic Violence Center is here to provide confidential, non-judgmental support to victims of sexual assault and domestic violence, and their families and friends. We have been serving Reno, McPherson, Rice, Kingman, Harper, and Marion Counties for many years.

We offer free 24-hour crisis lines and confidential, emotional support to anyone, male or female, adult or child, whose life has been affected by sexual assault or domestic violence. Our trained staff and volunteer advocates are always available to those in need.

Our trained staff will accompany victims through the medical exam, police questioning, court appearances, and all other appointments relating to their domestic violence and/or sexual assault. We also offer assistance in filing protection from abuse orders, protection from stalking, and victim compensation claims.

We offer an emergency safe shelter for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault and their children.

On staff, we have a bilingual advocate who will assist non-English speaking victims through the court, medical, and immigration processes.

We also offer anti-violence curriculums for youth, which include presentations on sexual and domestic violence. Our presentations cover what sexual and domestic violence is and how it affects all of us. The curriculum focuses on teaching youths what a healthy relationship is and what it looks like.

We maintain a caring environment for addressing personal issues provided for victims of sexual assault, domestic violence, their children, families, and friends. We can offer referrals for legal aid, financial aid, counseling, and inter-agency support services.

All of our services are free of charge.

If you or a loved one has been a victim of domestic violence and/or sexual assault, please call our 24/7 Crisis Hotline at 1-800-701-3630.
